Co-creating an experiential brand collaboration to boost recognition and cultural relevance.

Miami Art Basel is one of the premiere cultural moments in the US with the world’s biggest talent converging on the coastal metropolis. Three Brazilian brands – PatBO, Sol de Janeiro and Havaianas – were all looking to leverage the moment and partnered with MG Empower to deliver an experience that would generate massive social coverage.

With the event coinciding with the launch of the PatBO x Alessandra collection, in collaboration with model Alessandra Ambrosio, we developed a strategy around a yacht influencer event with Alessandra herself and Patricia Bonaldi to maximise buzz. To complement the experience, we invited Sol de Janeiro to provide an exclusive massage session on the boat and Havaianas to give out their iconic flip-flops for the occasion. This activation resulted in massive social coverage, helping the brands on a global scale but also driving qualified engagements with the local community.

Challenge.

Create an event that would generate social buzz and stand out from the crowd at Miami Art Basel.

Brazilian designer label PatBO had a busy December ahead, with a new store opening in a prime location in the Miami Design District and an upcoming capsule collection in partnership with A-List celebrity Alessandra Ambrosio. So, they were looking to generate significant social and IRL buzz, tapping into both global and local culture in order to pave the way for these key brand milestones.

Strategy.

Co-create a yacht party with beloved Brazilian brands, at the heart of Miami Art Basel, to boost cultural relevance and engage new audiences.

Considering PatBO’s emphasis on Brazilian culture, and their aim to amplify their presence on the international scene, we saw a unique opportunity for three big Brazilian brands to come together and own the cultural moment that Miami Art Basel has become. But to do so, they needed to make a statement. That’s why we recommended a strategy featuring a yacht party, embellished with crowd-pleasing elements like on-board massages and free gifts, right at the start of Art Basel. Another crucial element of the strategy was the influencer guestlist; this needed to be packed with big names on the local and international scene – but 100% organic in order to nurture authenticity.

Results.

On-brand social coverage drove cultural relevancy, awareness and engagement.

PatBO and MG Empower delivered imagery of the Yacht and store events featuring Havaianas and Sol de Janeiro products being displayed for gifting and being used by key influencers. On social coverage, brand sentiment was high across the board thanks to the natural integration of each brand’s Brazilian DNA with the glamorous scenes created on the yacht. And the content was 100% organic generating an estimated EMV of $45K. Qualitatively, this activation drove cultural relevancy, scaled global awareness and inspired engagement for all three brands.
