Designing a bespoke experiential activation for Sol de Janeiro’s global product launch.

Rio de Janeiro is a city where sunshine is not just a weather forecast; it’s a way of life. This lifestyle inspired the concept, strategy and design created by our experts to launch Sol de Janeiro’s Rio Radiance SPF collection. Aiming to capture the spirit of the city and its vibrant dynamics, integrated teams developed the Rio-apply Kiosk concept – an immersive, sensorial and scalable experience that embodies the Carioca life and connects with the local audience, driving awareness, engagement and consideration.

Leverage the launch of a new collection to support global awareness through meaningful engagement.

As Sol de Janeiro’s global agency, we’ve been supporting the brand’s positioning and awareness through an integrated mix – including consultancy, strategy, concept, design and implementation – with cultural association as the cornerstone. Following from its Brazilian roots, the brand found inspiration in Rio de Janeiro to launch the Rio Radiance SPF Collection – translating the city’s lifestyle and most memorable elements into a one-of-a-kind selection of products. Our team was tasked to support this launch and integrate it into its main awareness plan – while also building a memorable activation to increase awareness, engagement and brand positioning.

 

 

 

 

Challenge.

Strategy.

An immersive, interactive and educational experience inspired by Brazil and Rio de Janeiro.

Our creative and production experts designed the strategy with a starting point: the Rio-Apply Kiosk, an experiential activation and exciting representation of Rio de Janeiro atmosphere. Created to be an adaptable and scalable activation, due to the modular nature of the kiosk proposition, the strategy smartly combined a three-pilar journey – attract, engage and convert – to amplify the impact of the launch and explore the IRL experience through different consumer touch points and markets. Aligned with Sol de Janeiro’s key values, the Rio-Apply concept was built to become a memorable, innovative and joyful spot to highlight the new collection’s unique formula while strongly positioning the brand in different markets through authentic connections with Carioca’s daily lives.

Highly-engaged audiences exploring Sol de Janeiro’s new suncare line worldwide.

The deep understanding of cultural insight and social intelligence applied to the strategy led the activation to become a hit across various markets – including the US and Europe. While embodying Sol de Janeiro’s key values, Rio-Apply Kiosk incorporated digital and physical features that attracted the brand’s community and new consumers, turning it into a memorable experience and strategic opportunity for product sampling and real-time feedback. The technical nature of the project allowed it to be tailored to each market, creating authentic consumer touch points that amplified Sol de Janeiro’s impact, presence and cultural relevance.
