Activating influencers-turned-entertainers in six different markets to internationally spotlight the Lionsgate+ platform.

To promote the Lionsgate+ platform, brand and partners across a range of international markets, we engaged relevant entertainment and comedy creators on Instagram to produce live, feed and story content on Instagram across two phases. The activation was complemented by a duo livestream, drawing in the audiences of two influencers from each country.

Challenge.

Generate subscriptions and grow brand awareness for the Lionsgate+ platform in multiple markets.

When the platform launched, it had a lot of competition. So our key objective was to drive home the core message that Lionsgate+ (formerly known as STARZPLAY) is a premium streaming service serving up the best of Hollywood at an unbeatable price.

We engaged macro influencers – big in the entertainment and comedy spaces – from six regions to produce live,
in-feed and Story content on Instagram.

Plus we rolled out our influencers’ live content at strategic moments, leveraging Live Duos (which were a new feature at the time) to takeover the Lionsgate+ channel and deepen connections between brand, influencer and audience.

Our influencers created diverse content linked together by a single, coherent narrative – Lionsgate+ is the go-to streaming service for original series and iconic movies at an accessible price – and a shared, personal connection with the platform and the stories it hosts. Sparking curiosity by highlighting their favourite shows and movies, touching every note to reach through to their highly engaged audiences.

Results.

Dynamic livestream content drove audience participation through the roof.

Having two key influencers stage an Instagram takeover was an effective way to get audiences to pay attention and interact directly with the Lionsgate+ Instagram channel. This strategy was amplified by our implementation of live notifications and our influencers’ creatively engaging content.

 

Added value content demonstrated our influencers’ impressive responses to the brief.

In addition to producing authentically creative content, some of our influencers were particularly enthusiastic about the brand – proving the success of our procurement process – and created extra pieces on Instagram to drive home our client’s objectives.
